Prayer for October 2020

A Prayer to the Creator

Lord, Father of our human family,
you created all human beings equal in dignity:
pour forth into our hearts a fraternal spirit
and inspire in us a dream of renewed encounter,
dialogue, justice and peace.
Move us to create healthier societies
and a more dignified world,
a world without hunger, poverty, violence and war.
May our hearts be open
to all the peoples and nations of the earth.
May we recognize the goodness and beauty
that you have sown in each of us,
and thus forge bonds of unity, common projects,
and shared dreams. Amen.

(From Frateli Tutti)

Pope's prayer intention for August:

The Maritime World

We pray for all those who work and live from the sea, among them sailors, fishermen, and their families.

Pope's prayer intention for July: that families be loved, respected, guided

The family ought to be protected. It faces many dangers: the fast pace of life, stress…

Sometimes, parents forget to play with their children.

The Church needs to encourage families and stay at their side, helping them to discover ways that allow them to overcome all of these difficulties.

Let us pray that today’s families may be accompanied by love, respect, and guidance, and especially, that they may be protected by the State.

Pope's prayer intention for June: Compassion for the world amidst Covid-19 pandemic

Many people suffer due to the great difficulties they endure.

We can help them by accompanying them along an itinerary full of compassion which transforms people’s lives.

It brings them closer to the Heart of Christ, which welcomes all of us into the revolution of tenderness.

We pray that all those who suffer may find their way in life, allowing themselves to be touched by the Heart of Jesus.

Prayer Intention for May

A Prayer by His Holiness Pope Francis

O Mary,

You shine continuously on our journey
as a sign of salvation and hope.
We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick,
who, at the foot of the cross,
were united with Jesus’ suffering,
and persevered in your faith.

“Protectress of the Roman people”,
you know our needs,
and we know that you will provide,
so that, as at Cana in Galilee,
joy and celebration may return
after this time of trial.

Help us, Mother of Divine Love,
to conform ourselves to the will of the Father
and to do what Jesus tells us.
For he took upon himself our suffering,
and burdened himself with our sorrows
to bring us, through the cross,
to the joy of the Resurrection.

We fly to your protection,
O Holy Mother of God;
Do not despise our petitions
in our necessities,
but deliver us always
from every danger,
O Glorious and Blessed Virgin.
